Airsoft Vs Paintball – Which Extreme Sport is More Dangerous?

[ad_1]

Many people think that airsoft and paintball are dangerous, but the truth is neither one of these extreme sports produces more injuries than a common club sport (ie. basketball, football, baseball, etc). If you are thinking about joining either of these sports, all the power to you. However, while both sports are safe, airsoft is considerably more intimidating than paintball. The fire rate for airsoft guns is usually around 300-450 fps. Paintball guns rarely reach 300 fps, in fact, most paintball fields have restrictions that disallow players to have a fire rate above 300 fps.

Airsoft bb’s can pierce objects, including human skin. Paintballs are designed to inflict as small amount of pain as possible. Which is why a paintball is wider, and more blunt. Because of a paintballs large surface area, the force of a paintballs impact is distributed over a larger target area. Which causes there to be less pain in one specific area.

So while you will never receive an injury from a paintball making contact with a skin protected body part, airsoft bb’s can, and do, occasionally injure skin protected body parts. The reason for this, is because a paintball will never reach past the skin, but a bb can hit the bone. Airsoft bb’s rarely cause bone injuries, but there is documented evidence that these injuries do occur. Which does not apply to the friendly game of paintball. The most typical injuries from both sports are ankle and eye related. And for both sports, these injuries occur in the same way.

Ankle injuries cannot be avoided in any sport. If a player accidentally twists or rolls in an unnatural direction, an injury may occur. Ankle injuries happen in paintball and airsoft, but they also happen in just about every sport. Nothing we can do about these. For eye injuries, if a paintball or bb pellet contacts an unprotected eye, serious damage can be inflicted. The difference between eye injuries for airsoft and paintball is that paintball will usually leave temporary damage, but an airsoft bb in the eye will almost always cause permanent damage.

An experienced player from both sports knows that eye protection is an absolute must. And when the proper precautions are taken, both sports are very safe. That being said, airsoft will be too painful and scary for many prospective players. If the absence of danger and pain are your main criteria for airsoft vs paintball, then paintball is your best option.

What Are The 10 Rules Of The Power Of Positive Thinking?

[ad_1]

The power of positive thinking and the top ten rules in getting it is one of the hottest topic today.

This is because people are realizing that positive thinking and a positive attitude does affect life significantly. Have you heard of “The Secret” movie? It’s rapidly making it’s way around the world.

Whether you see a glass as half-empty or half-full can affect the way you treat yourself. We are in control of our lives and our destiny.

An idle brain, is a devils’ workshop they say. This is not a positive quote. However, using this ideology in mind, we ventured to write on positive thinking, so that something productive would be achieved of our minds.

Here are the top 10 Rules to Get the Power of Positive Thinking

1) Believe – You need to believe. You can not pretend to be a positive thinker. In positive thinking, you can not fake it because there is no one to pretend to. If somebody merely believes that you are a positive thinker, how can that benefit you? The most important of the ten rules of the power of positive thinking is that you yourself should believe it.

2) Be objective – This is very important in the ten rules for the power of positive thinking. Many people tend to see their lives for their failures and thus, they lose all hope of ever attaining in their goal. Some other people, filled with false pride, tend to magnify their success and they make all the wrong decisions.

3) Surround yourself with people who have a positive attitude – When you are engaged in an internal battle between your negative and positive self, you will need all the help you can get. Do not surround yourself with negative people who will just drag your positive attitude to the floor with their negativity.

4) Be healthy – All of the positive thinking in the world will not help you if you are six feet under, can it? You have to keep your body healthy in order to fuel your positive thinking. One step to achieving the power of positive thinking is looking after your body.

5) Switch negativity around – Remove all negative thoughts by repelling it outright when something negative enters your personality. Channel that energy into positive thoughts. Positive quotes and positive affirmations will help to keep negativity away.

6) Be patient – Positive thinking is not immediate. You need to reprogram yourself in order to get remove any negative attitude you possess.

7) Remember that other people can sense your negativity – Before you do anything, be sure to have the right attitude. One reason why people fail is because others can sense their negative attitude and want no part of it. Positive thoughts, positive thinking, and positive affirmation create a positive attitude

8) Be positive – Always look for something positive in everything new. When you encounter something unfamiliar, do not be afraid. Take a hard look at it and see it for the positive effects it brings, this will make your life easier.

9) Pace yourself – You need to pace yourself in order to prevent yourself from collapsing. Take life one day at a time. Remember that you can not hurry into being positive. Be patient and you will achieve a positive attitude.

10) Apply the change – The main characteristic of these ten rules of the power of positive thinking is the fact that they only bring you to the door. You have to open it yourself. Many individuals do not realize this, but we need these rules in order to appreciate life more. Some people think rules limit our achievements, but this is untrue. Without any rules, we would have been extinct centuries ago. Rules remove the chaos that is called life and impose sanity into it.

Rules are what we use to help us understand the true meaning of life. Sometimes, we look for rules in order to help us attain our goals. People make rules in order to help themselves achieve their goals in a manner that they can understand. Rules are also used to help us understand life. People give out rules in order to help others get what they want. We are able to keep every discovery made because of rules.

It seems that people, when looking for rules, like to stick to ten, which is a nice, round number. It comes as no surprise that individuals look for 10 rules for the power of positive thinking.

Tips For Increasing Height

[ad_1]

The soul is beyond the body and hence from this perspective, it is immaterial how tall or short a person is. The true height of a person is his or her character and deeds.

Yet, tall height is a natural ambition of humans. I agree that in current context it is partly because of the glamour associated with tall height. If that were the driver for any urge for height increase, the efforts would defeat the purpose. Because the true purpose for height increase should stem from an earnest desire to achieve as much of our potential as we can. A tall height represents complete growth of the body and hence we should endeavor to achieve that complete growth.

Height does vary from person to person as per his or her genetics, climate and other conditions. Thus blanket comparison of height with others is not a right approach. Instead the correct approach should be to keep as healthy as possible to gain complete growth of body.

I was born as a medium height child. Till age of 17, my height did not grow much. At age of 17, at just above 5 feet, I was among the short students of my class and often ridiculed for being short and thin. Very honestly, at times I did feel humiliated at tended to avoid public company to the extent possible. The matter got worse because I could see many other boys who were shorter than me few years ago now surpassing me.

But for once, I decided to no more rationalize and act as an ostrich. I decided to take my concern heads-on. I changed my complete life-pattern. For next two years, I committed to new patterns and by the time I was nineteen, I was 5’11” and had an extremely flexible and agile body. Today I have a height of above 6 feet.

In this article, I would share those tips that I followed in my height transformation process. I am sure these will benefit one and all in achieving their maximum potential:

Tip 1: Mind Power

Our body responds to our thoughts. As per our thought patterns, appropriate hormones are secreted and physiological changes happen accordingly. Positive thoughts reverse aging process and improve health. Negative thoughts accelerate aging process and stunt growth. Thus first critical step for height gain is to reprogram your thought patterns. Not only it will help you increase height, but also bring benefits in all areas of your life. To me, it made me a diligent person that helped me get admission in IIT. Here are specific suggestions on mind programming for height-gain:

  1. Refuse to accept that you are born unhealthy and short. Visualize yourself as having the most perfect health and live every moment in that vision.
  2. Stop compromising on matters of quality. Keep demanding as much as you can think of, from yourself.
  3. Imagine that your height is increasing every moment with every movement of yours.
  4. Stop traits of anger, helplessness and dejection.

Remember that will power is the key. Once you get a good grasp on it, rest would work automatically. If you try out these tips without strong will-power, it would never work. This secret gets you everything you want in life.

Tip 2: Food

Simply stop junk, fried, spicy and oily food. I cannot stress further the importance of simple, nutritious, healthy food. Our body is made out of food we eat. We grow from a baby of few inches to a full-grown adult only through food we eat. Food is the raw material used to build our building that we call body. How can you expect a strong building to be built if you use inferior raw material from junkyard?

Following are certain recommendations that have helped me:

  1. Eating at least two hours before sleep
  2. Having a light dinner
  3. Regular consumption of sprouts
  4. Having regular eating schedule and avoiding habit of munching every now and then
  5. Avoiding consumption of tea, coffee, cold-drinks, ice-cream, chocolates etc
  6. Regular use of trifala powder in night or early morning
  7. Eating lots of fresh fruits
  8. Drinking lots of water
  9. Walking for 10-15 minutes after meals
  10. Eating soaked almonds in morning. The gulbandi variety is best.
  11. Eating in sukhasan. This posture is a wonderful gift of our ancient seers.

Tip 3: Exercise

Human body is built to work hard and live actively. More we avoid physical labor, more we become prone to underdevelopment, faster aging and ailments. Make a habit of doing rigorous workouts at least thrice a week and normal exercises in rest of the days.

My routine in those days was as follows:

  1. Waking up by 5 am and having a variety of workouts till 8 am. These included mix and match of following:
  • Running and jogging
  • Flexibility and stretching
  • Martial Arts practice
  • Asans and Pranayams
  • Meditation
  1. In evening I used to go for Taekwondo exercises thrice a week. The practice of high kicks is extremely beneficial
  2. On Sundays, we used to go to play cricket.

This active routine worked wonders on my body and activity.

Would request all health-seekers to join taekwondo lessons close-by. Taekwondo differs from other martial arts. In taekwondo, emphasis is on high kicks and free stretching which helps body grow. In many other martial arts, focus is on restricting body movements within a small region. Thus it seems to restrict height of a person.

Similarly weight-training should be avoided for first 20 years of life. That should be replaced with free hand exercises like pushups.

Many claim that Yogasan can help increase height. I even saw a video on it by a celebrated hathayogi. He gave a passionate speech in the video that seemed to showcase short height as source of all miseries and inferiority complex. Ironically the hathayoga guru himself appeared not more than five and a half feet!

The fact is that hathayoga is being overemphasized bit too much these days and its benefits are being over-inflated as a marketing gimmick. Certain asans do benefit but in essence it’s the overall package of healthy lifestyle which is effective. Replace these hathasans with any kind of aerobic physical activity and results would be exactly the same. Perhaps even more!

Having said this, certain postures are quite useful for height growth. These should be added in one’s fitness routine – chakrasana, halasana, sarvangasana, pashchimatanasana, pavanmuktasana, hastapadasana, mayurasana. Among Pranayams, the only pranayams I have found to be truly effective are Bahya Pranayam, Abhyantara and Chaturtha Pranayama. These provide all the benefits that are claimed from variety of breathing practices like Anulom Vilom, Bhastrika etc. These pranayams with rigorous cardio in open air gives all the benefit you desire from a fitness regime.

Do ensure that you develop a habit of deep breathing. We shall discuss the art of deep breathing in a separate article.

Tip 4: Miscellaneous

  1. Sleep well. More you work out, more the rest required by your body. Especially for growth, you should ensure that you do not deprive your body from much needed rest.
  2. Sleep early. Work so hard in the day that you tend to fall asleep by 10 pm. Wake up by 5 or 6 depending upon your comfort. I prefer varying the waking time as per my body needs. Avoid late night sittings.
  3. Keep spine straight
  4. While standing, try to stretch your entire body up. At times come on your toes for a full stretch. You can even raise your hands for a fuller stretch. In more formal occasions, you can stand normally and yet try stretching your entire body without raising your toes. Keep doing it every now and then. If you are in a bus, try if you can stretch up without coming on toes and touch the ceiling with head.
  5. Do not settle in one static position for long. Keep moving and changing postures. Remain active and give body a small workout every moment.

Tip 5: Brahmachraya (Control of mind)

Needless to say, all of this works only with a perfect control over mind. Make a habit of challenging your mind with even more control every moment. Once mind is mastered, the world will be at your feet, height is a petty thing.

To develop this mastery and realize what the real fun of life is, following is advised. More you practice, more you gain:

  1. Stop putting your mind in all form of sensory inputs that tend to promote lustful thought patterns – romantic/vulgar songs, movies, literature, company. These generate hormones which speed up the ageing process and stunt complete natural growth.
  2. Stop watching the idiot box. Apart from dumbing the mind, it makes your breath shallow and hence causes stunted growth.
  3. Similarly avoid video games, iPods and other mind-dumbing tools.
  4. Stop digging too much into stale newspaper. Use it only for keeping you updated. Filling your mind with depressing stories of past, the first thing in morning, is the worst treatment you can give to yourself who is naturally programmed to be always forward looking.
  5. Prepare actionable plans. Avoid discussions and analyses which have no relevance to practical application and are merely time-wasters.
  6. Needless to say, avoid all acts which lead to loss of vital energy and semen.

We shall discuss the subject of Brahmacharya in detail in another article and dispel certain myths surrounding the subject. Brahmacharya is the greatest potential remedy for all humans living today and needs a right, relevant and correct representation.

Please share your feedback with these practices. They should start giving results in a few months. Apart from a full body growth, you would also gain a healthy body and confident attitude.

Stretch to your fullest potential!

Silky Smooth Penis Skin – How to Keep Penis Skin Smooth and Supple to Increase Sexual Pleasure

[ad_1]

Silky smooth penis skin is just so touchable and luxuriant, especially to anyone lucky enough to enjoy this lovely tactile experience. It also means that the penis skin is healthy and cared for, and when skin of the penis is in optimal condition, it is invigorated and more sensitive and receptive to stimulation. This, of course, leads to better sex and improves sexual function.

Ignoring Penis Skin Can Lead to Problems

There are many problems associated with ignoring the skin of the penis. These include:

Penis skin that is not cared for can become dry and scaly – This is unsightly and does not encourage sexual activity. In fact, it can be a real turn-off for your partner, and may even reduce sexual confidence.

Penis skin can become desensitized – If the skin of the penis is not cared for then it can become hardened and not as receptive to the touch. This means that sexual excitement can be reduced during foreplay and sexual intercourse, which can reduce the intensity of climax and overall sexual satisfaction.

Penis skin is a protective barrier – Healthy skin of the penis protects the human body from infection and illness as it forms a protective barrier between major organs and the outside world. With cracked or broken skin of the penis it is possible, during sexual intercourse and masturbation, to have harmful bacteria enter the body and create illness.

Penis skin is an insulator – When the skin of the penis is in optimal condition it maintains the temperature of the penis. This, of course, prevents the penis from feeling the cold more than it should, which means that its size and functionality is maintained.

What Does Silky Smooth Penis Skin Mean to You and Your Partner?

With healthy penis skin comes more pleasure. The skin of the penis has an improved sensitivity and this then creates a more dynamic sex life. Plus, it is enjoyable to touch, which will increase the longevity of foreplay and the likelihood of fellatio, if this is what you and your partner enjoy. It may also encourage your partner to be more adventurous, and experiment in the bedroom, taking their time to stroke, fondle and tickle your penis, further heightening your climax.

Better Sex with Better Penis Skin

A satisfying sex life leads to happiness and contentment, but with healthy penis skin often a new found confidence is gained. Not only does the penis look good, but it feels great. This may then lead to more sex and a possible increase in sexual enjoyment, especially, if previously, the owner of the penis felt self-conscious of the condition of their skin.

How to Get Smooth Silky Penis Skin

The best way to improve the health of your penis skin is as follows:

Eat a balanced diet that includes mono-saturated fats – This is a healthy fat that prevents your skin from becoming dry and flaky. Some great sources of this are olive oil, nuts, and mackerel, as well as herring, tomatoes, avocado, and egg yolk.

Use a natural cleansing product – Avoid dyed and perfumed skin cleansing products for cleansing the penis, instead use natural cleansers such as, goat milk or olive oil soap.

Don’t exfoliate – Some areas of the skin are more sensitive than others. So, while it is okay to exfoliate say the legs, arms, and torso, it is not recommended that the skin of the penis be treated in the same manner. Exfoliating this area of the body will decrease sensitivity and could possibly lead to the hardening of the skin. This, in turn, will lessen sexual excitement and pleasure, and may even reduce sexual function.

Apply a penis specific moisturizer daily – Use a penis specific creme daily (health professionals often recommend Man1 Man Oil) which is rich in essential vitamins and minerals. Products such as this are said to increase penis skin elasticity and sensitivity, as well appearance, and can improve sexual function and pleasure.

4 Tips On Creating Your Healthy Eating Plan

[ad_1]

To be healthy, the first and most important steps are to accept that you need to make changes to your present lifestyle and eating habits. Once you understand that, the next step is to come out with an action plan to follow.

This action plan should be based upon your personal fitness goals.

Implementing this plan is an important step in your journey towards fitness and health.

By making your goals concrete will help you to be more motivated and sticking to your plan.

Create your personal healthy eating plan by following the 4 tips given below;

1. Be realistic in setting your goals

Do not make the common mistake of setting unreasonable and difficult goals for yourself. Once you are unable to reach your goals, you will feel discouraged and might even give up on your diet plan.

Be more realistic when setting up your goals but that does not mean making it easy for yourself.

Example:

If you work long hours, you cannot expect to cook healthy meals all the time.

When creating your goals, think about all this details. Decide exactly how much weight and amount of fat you want to lose. Make them reasonable, neither too easy to achieve nor too difficult to attain.

It is difficult to accurately determine your body fat percentage without using expensive medical equipment, it is better to monitor your change in body fat or muscle with measurements.

Before you start your healthy eating and exercising plan, record the measurements of your waist, hips, thigh and upper arm. And check them again every two weeks or so to monitor your progress.

It is also difficult to accurately determine your caloric needs without using medical equipment. To be sure how much you should be consuming, consult a professional or your personal trainer.

2. Proceed gradually

After you have developed your goals, implement the changes gradually.

Example:

Your goal is to stop your habit of eating chocolate with munching on carrots or bananas. But do not cut off your chocolate completely from the first day of your diet plan.

Think on how to gradually reduce the amount of chocolates you eat. This will prevent you from your irresistible cravings.

Eating foods that are both healthy and yummy, encourage you to follow through with your plan. Prevents mindless eating by taking your time when eating and enjoy every bite of the food you eat, helps you realize when you are full.

3. Be honest to yourself

Whenever you concede to your cravings, be honest about it.

Admit that you have eaten things you were trying to avoid and make the effort to make up for it in your next meal. Your integrity helps to cover up for times when you conceded to your craving in foods you had decided not to eat.

It can help you to monitor what you eat everyday and be accountable to your diet plan can also help you to stay on course with your diet.

4. Snacking on healthy foods

Munching on snack between meals help to increase your metabolism but ensures that the snacks you eat are healthy. They help you burn more calories and keep you from overeating.

Snacking on healthy foods also gives you a constant supply of energy throughout the day.

Coming out with an eating plan can take time.

Follow the 4 tips given above to reduce your planning time and by using the ideas to help you create and stick to this plan.

After you have perfected it and vigorously sticking to your healthy diet plan, you will reap the benefits that come with eating a healthy diet.

Multivitamin Comparison – From Empty Air to Massively Boosting Health

[ad_1]

Multivitamins – who uses them? Well, you probably do, Americans spend $4,000,000,000 a year on multivitamins alone. 70 % Australians are no less keen on them, spending a tiny $2,300,000,000, and yes … that is a ton of zeros!!

Who needs them? Well the number of people that can say that every day they honestly eat a well-balanced diet of containing lots of fruits, nuts and vegetables, whole grains, dairy, along with chicken and fish is not just low, it is merely non-existent. Of the people who think they are doing well, most do not realize the sheer quantities that have to be consumed to maintain that ‘well-balanced diet’.

Okay, so almost everyone needs a multivitamin, but which one to choose? Having 30,000+ vitamins on the market presents so much choice it normally is a case of finding the bottle you think looks the nicest … or the cheapest. After all, a vitamin is a vitamin right?

Fortunately, 7 Canadian and American biochemists have come to rescue us from our ignorance. They looked at and compared what is in each of these multivitamins by separating and measuring each ingredient – that is, vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants and other components.

They put together the ‘perfect’ multivitamin, which actually does not exist as some vitamins needs to be taken separately and it would be the size of large chestnut, and rather difficult to swallow!

They examined how absorbable the vitamins were, whether they were in the right amounts/form and the variety of vitamins and minerals. Also looked at was having the vitamins in the right combinations for the body’s needs. The score was how close each one was to that perfect multivitamin out of 100%.

A staggering 50 out of the total 110 multivitamins did not even reach 10% and only the top 11 multivitamins were above 25% of what the human body needs on a daily basis.

The popular supermarket brands all featured below 10% possibly due to being forced to compete on price with other supermarkets. The downside for you, means the product you take every day is a hugely inferior supplement.

In other words, you get what you pay for. In some cases ignorance is bliss, in others it is a big wakeup call. My father has taken supplements for many years before and after he developed cancer and never once questioned the quality of what he was consuming. After reading this, he too, wondered why he ever thought not to research something so important to his health, when he did such a great job of researching anything else that he bought.

My advice, choose a multivitamin that is backed by a great company with a good reputation and do not just buy any old vitamin because of the price. You would be better off spending the money on something else.

Graves’ Disease Diet Tips You Probably Don’t Know About

[ad_1]

Before I discuss some Graves’ Disease diet tips that can help restore your health back to normal, let me first tell you that not only am I a licensed healthcare professional, but I was personally diagnosed with Graves’ Disease. And nutrition definitely played a huge role in restoring my health back to normal. I will warn you that being a holistic doctor I am biased towards natural treatment methods, so while most endocrinologists label Graves” Disease as “incurable”, based on my own personal experience I believe that Graves” Disease can be cured, and one’s diet is important in restoring their health.

So if you are looking for Graves’ Disease diet tips that will help restore your health back to normal, then you are going to enjoy reading the following information. As I just mentioned, diet can play a big role in treating Graves” Disease naturally. However, I will tell you that while eating healthy and incorporating nutritional supplements can be beneficial, there are other factors that will also play a role in your recovery, which I will briefly mention in this article.

I also will warn you that different doctors will have varying opinions as to what is considered to be “healthy” with regards to one’s diet. And let’s be honest for a moment…nobody eats the “perfect” diet, as in my opinion it’s okay to be “bad” every now and then. For example, I consulted with a patient once who loved milkshakes, which as you might guess isn’t too healthy. And while it would be ideal for this person to completely eliminate milkshakes from her diet, having one every so often usually isn’t a big deal. And the same goes with other foods.

Of course there are exceptions. For example, someone with celiac disease probably won’t be able to eat a gluten-based food “every now and then” without having a bad reaction. Another example involves someone who can’t “settle” for a milkshake every now and then, or an occasional slice of pizza, etc. In other words, some are better off staying away completely from the “bad” foods, or else they begin consuming too much of it.

Testing For Food Allergies Is A Good Idea

Anyway, one of the first things I will recommend before anyone changes their eating habits is to get tested for food allergies. Going to a regular allergy doctor might not be the best option, as usually they will test for only IgE antibodies. You might want to visit a holistic doctor and receive an ELISA/EIA panel, which also measures the IgG antibodies, and is usually more accurate (although this does depend on the lab that performs the test).

Another alternative is to consider a GI Health Panel. The company Diagnos-Techs offers this type of test, which measures the health of the gastrointestinal tract and includes over one dozen tests that utilize saliva and stool specimens. They also offer a FIP-Food Intolerance Panel, that will determine whether you are allergic to four of the most common foods (gluten, soy, milk, and egg proteins).

A less costly method is to conduct an elimination diet, where you eliminate all of the common food allergens (wheat, soy, dairy, etc.), and then slowly introduce a potential allergen, one at a time. There are different ways of doing this, but here is an example. You can go on a purification program (described shortly), and then once the purification program is completed, introduce wheat for 3 days, and see how your body reacts. Just make sure you don’t add more than one potential allergen, as if you were to add both wheat and dairy for example, and had a bad reaction, you wouldn’t know which allergen was responsible.

A Purification Program Can Be Beneficial

As I just mentioned, many people can benefit from a purification program. There are different types of these programs, and when doing one it is wise to be under the guidance of a competent healthcare professional. When I put one of my patients on a purification program, I prefer having them avoid gluten, dairy, soy, and other common allergens for at least twenty one days. Once again, the reason for this is because they are common allergens.

On the other hand, I encourage them to eat plenty of vegetables, some fruits, as well as chicken, turkey, and certain types of fish. I do recommend that they purchase organic food, at least with regards to the meats. While it would be great if they can buy everything organic, I realize some people can’t afford this, and so if you must pick and choose, I’d recommend to eat organic meat, and try to stay away from non-organic vegetables and fruits that are high in pesticides. These aren’t necessarily the only foods I recommend, as most people can consume a small quantity of raw nuts (sunflower seeds, almonds, etc.), as well as some other foods.

An Actual Example Of A Graves” Disease Diet:

Here is an example of a daily protocol when I first went on my Graves’ Disease diet. Keep in mind that this is just an example, and is not a diet that I stayed on permanently (although it did train me to eat better, and I still eat healthy to this day):

Breakfast:

• Protein drink which contained 2 cups of purified water, I cup of mixed berries (raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries), a healthy form of protein powder, and 1 teaspoon of flax seed oil (after one month I added one raw organic egg to this).

Mid-morning snack:

• Organic apples and raw sunflower seeds

Lunch:

• Grilled chicken salad: organic mixed greens and spinach, organic grilled chicken

Mid-afternoon snack:

• Another protein drink (very filling, and actually tastes pretty good)

Dinner:

• Organic roasted turkey

• Some type of vegetable (i.e. squash)

After-Dinner Snack:

• 1 cup of raw nuts (almonds, Brazil nuts, walnuts, cashews)

Although this diet is relatively healthy, you’ll notice that it isn’t perfect. I probably should have incorporated more vegetables, but overall it was a healthy diet. Today I still eat healthy, but I do incorporate some whole grains occasionally (for example, I will have a turkey wrap or sandwich with whole wheat bread), and every now and then I’ll even go out and get some pizza, eat some chocolate, etc.

If you currently eat a lot of junk food and/or have strong sweet and carbohydrate cravings, I wouldn’t expect you to change overnight. Under such circumstances it is best to take it slow, and when I first consult with a patient that has strong sweet and carb cravings, I put them on a protocol to help them get rid of these cravings, and thus make the transition to a healthier diet much easier. I personally was brought up eating foods like Fruit Loops, Burger King Whoppers and fries, and drank plenty of Hawaiian Punch. And while I was already eating much healthier when I was diagnosed with Graves” Disease, when I first began trying to eat healthy it did take some time.

Drink Plenty Of Purified Water

You also want to drink plenty of purified water during this time, and avoid any soft drinks, and even most juices, which can be high in sugar. As for what type of water you should drink, different doctors have different opinions, but I recommend either water that has gone through a reverse osmosis process or distillation, and then is enhanced with minerals. Some will disagree with me, preferring water without minerals added. Either way, stay away from the tap water, and I’d also be cautious about drinking spring water unless if you know the source is a good quality.

What Are Goitrogens?

There are also certain goitrogens you should try your best to avoid. Goitrogens interfere with the function of the thyroid gland, which admittedly isn’t as big of a factor in someone with a hyperthyroid condition like Graves” Disease as it would be with someone with a hypothyroid condition. But still, you want to at least minimize the following foods, and some of them you will want to avoid completely. I personally ate some of the following goitrogens in moderation (i.e. spinach and broccoli), while completely avoiding others (i.e. soy). Anyway, here are some of the goitrogens to be aware of:

• Soy

• Broccoli

• Brussel sprouts

• Cauliflower

• Kale

• Spinach

• Turnips

• Peaches

• Strawberries

Where Should You Shop?

As for where should you shop, although you can shop at your local health food store, I personally like Trader Joes, which is a national chain that has plenty of natural and organic food at affordable prices. Some “regular” grocery stores, and even places like Wal-Mart sell some natural and organic food as well. While my wife and I love shopping at Trader Joes for most of our items, we do buy some of our foods at a local health food store, and a few items in a “regular” supermarket.

Other Factors Besides Diet Can Impact Your Health

Besides eating healthy, there are some other factors that can affect your health. Since it’s difficult to get all of the vitamins and minerals you need through your diet, taking some quality nutritional supplements can be beneficial (i.e. B vitamins, Vitamin D, iodine, essential fatty acids, a multi-mineral supplement, etc.). As I’m sure you know, it’s also beneficial to be on a regular exercise program. Another big factor for people with Graves” Disease is to manage the stress in their lives, as while just about everyone has to deal with stress, we all have different coping mechanisms. And those people that don’t do a good job of managing the stress in their lives are more likely to have stressed out adrenal glands, which can both lead to and exacerbate an autoimmune condition.

Should You Consult With A Natural Endocrine Doctor?

While many endocrinologists label Graves” Disease as being incurable, the truth is that many people like myself are turning to natural treatment methods to help restore the function of the thyroid gland, and thus avoid anti-thyroid drugs and radioactive iodine. A competent natural doctor that focuses on endocrine disorders can help you with your diet, recommend quality supplements, and put you on a complete program that can potentially restore your health back to normal. While not everyone is a candidate for natural treatment methods, most people can benefit from following a natural treatment protocol.

So for those looking for an ideal Graves’ Disease diet, hopefully you have a better idea as to what foods you should eat when diagnosed with this condition. Truth to be told, most people should eat a healthy diet consisting of whole foods, regardless of whether or not they have an autoimmune thyroid disorder or not. Doing so can actually help prevent the development of such conditions, along with incorporating other lifestyle factors, such as exercising regularly, obtaining quality sleep, and doing a good job of managing stress. But for someone with Graves” Disease, eating healthy can definitely help to improve their health, and is thus extremely important.

How to Personalize Each Call Center Call

[ad_1]

Here’s a quick tip to make your call center customers feel at ease on the first few minutes of the call:

Personalize the call by using their names.

Is it easy to do? You bet. Check my tips below on how to personalize the call:

* If you already have a system (computer application that you are using when taking calls), check if the database already has the customer information ready to use on that call. There are some systems that already upload the information on the database as soon as the phone rings. So use it to your advantage.

* If the information isn’t there yet (and if you are required to build the customer’s profile on your database) then go with the spiel (usually given during the call center training or quality assurance meetings ) that you are provided to get the customer’s name.

* Just ask by saying, “May I have your name?” instead of “May I know your name?” The former will generate more appropriate response by giving their names right away, while customers will usually reply with the answer “No” should you opt to use the latter.

* Politely ask them to spell their name for you should you have a challenge in understanding their names. And make sure to listen very carefully so as not to ask the same information again.

* Quickly explain the benefit of letting them spell their names for you. You can tell them that you are doing this to make sure that you will save the right information on your end. And they will love you for that.

* Ask them on how they say their names for those somewhat confusing ones. You wouldn’t want to say DOGLAS to call your customer with the name of DOUGLAS, right? See, pronunciation is still a key in this area.

* Use Ma’am and Sir to your discretion. Using these names repeatedly will surely make your customer feel awkward about your conversation that can also lead them to become irate eventually.

Aside from observing all these things just to quickly personalize the call, nothing beats the fact that honesty, sincerity and politeness will definitely be equal to a great call experience. Add a dash of humor (if necessary, or if the customer initiated it) and you are on your way to become a call center superstar.

Health is Wealth – Do You Agree?

[ad_1]

I agree whole-heartedly with the saying “Health Is Wealth”. If a person is not healthy then he or she will find it very difficult or even impossible to enjoy life, even though he or she may be very rich.

If I am asked to choose one from two of the following things, which will I prefer: health without wealth, or, wealth without health? Without hesitation I will choose the former. There is no doubt.

Wealth is generally associated with how much money a person has, that is, how rich he is. An uncle of mine is very rich. He has just about everything anyone can hope for, and some things no one dares to hope for. That is how rich he is. He lives in a huge mansion guarded by huge dobermans and sophisticated burglar alarms. He has expensive cars, furniture, paintings and other rich man’s toys. Well, he has everything except good health.

Everywhere he goes he carries with him a bag of medicine. He has to take pills everyday for his weak heart, diabetes and hypertension. He is about sixty years old and has spent his life accumulating wealth. Without doubt he has succeeded in becoming very rich. However he has also succeeded in becoming very unhealthy too. He laments about his lack of health and says that how he wished that he was young and healthy again. Unfortunately, he cannot regain his health again.

This example of wealth without health is not what I want to follow. It is ridiculous to have so much material wealth but being unable to enjoy it. What is the use of money when one has to take so much medicine everyday just to stay alive? How can one enjoy life when one’s body is weakened by disease and pain? No wonder my uncle laments so.

Health without wealth is far better. That is what I have now. I do not have to worry even a bit about what I can eat or do. I eat and do what I like because my body is healthy. Of course I do not abuse it by taking drugs or overexerting myself. I take good care of my body. In that way I stay healthy.

With health I can go about my work with joy. If I become rich, then that is fine. Then again, I may lose my riches, but that is all right too. I can always do the things I enjoy whether I am rich or not. I can play games, swim in the sea, climb hills, eat delicious fruits and appreciate the things of this beautiful Earth. This is indeed wealth – to be healthy and joyous.
